The typical set up is with a single hook rig, 7732, 7731, or 7691S 8/0 to 10/0, 18' leader, (6'-8' leaders when using a wind on leader) to be run as an artificial. This lure is also designed to be used with natural baits, just as you would with a typical ballyhoo rig. The leader should be about 6 feet long, mono (80# - 150#) or steel (#7 - #9); the hook size can range from 7/0 to 9/0 in Mustad styles 3412, 3407SS, 7732, 7731, or 7691S. The lure will start to "smoke" about 3 knots, this lure can be pulled from 4 to 12 knots effectively, depending of course on the sea conditions.

Chrome 10 Ounce Tapered Jet Head - This lure has a tapered bullet shaped face with flow through holes that flow out rear of head creating a smoking action like no other lure can. The head has a chrome plated brass finish for added fish attract ability. The typical set up is with a double hook rig, 7732, 7731, or 7691S 9/0 to 11/0, 18' leader, (6'-8' leaders when using a wind on leader) to be run as an artificial. Tackle - The "Little Head" and small lures can be trolled with light tackle from 16# to heavy tackle 130#, depending on the area and target species. Typically the medium can be trolled with the same (16# to 130#), but it is recommended to use at least 20# class tackle. The large lures should be trolled with at least 50# tackle, due to their size and amount of pull they create. The leader size used will vary depending on the crew, tackle, and sea conditions.

All Lures - All lures have caught a variety of striking fish to include: Marlin- Blue, Black, Striped, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna- Yellowfin, Bluefin, Blackfin, Bonita, Kingfish and Sailfish. They have been successfully used both as an artificial and with a variety of natural baits.
